First foam sculpture appears in Tallinn. Penosil foam sculpture of Elsabe the nun, based on a legend recounted by Jüri Kuuskemaa and completed based on a sketch by the artist Kalju Kivi, displayed outside the building of the Estonian Puppet and Youth Theatre during the Tallinn Old Town Days.
Sculptures of Estonia’s famous cultural creators, crafted from Penosil construction foam, formally unveiled in collaboration with the Estonian Puppet and Youth Theatre. For the Penosil sculpture exhibition, sculptures were completed of Georg Ots (singer), Kaie Kõrb (prima ballerina), Tõnu Kaljuste (conductor), Georg Lurich (wrestler), Ita Ever (actress), Jüri Kuuskemaa (historian), Juhan Viiding (poet) and Lennart Meri.

3D sculptures/letters, made from Penosil construction foam, completed by students from the Chair of Jewellery and Blacksmithing and the Chair of Installation and Sculpture of the Estonian Academy of Arts. Their completion required approximately one thousand cans of construction foam.
